SLIPS, DELAYS OR NO REVERSE
After overhaul, vehicle exhibits a slip, delay and or “NO Reverse.”
The cause may be, during overhaul the tube seal for the “Low and Reverse” oil transfer tube was damaged on disassembly and not replaced or the tube seal was installed backwards.
The “Low and Reverse” oil transfer tube is located under the valve body and is attached to the case with three bolts. NOTE: The tube seal normally will not fall out of the case, when the tube is removed and is not always provided in overhaul kits.
Refer to Figure 1 to identify the location of the “Low and Reverse” oil transfer tube and the identification and correct installation of the tube seal.

Calibration concerns and changes for the 1995 model year.
DIRECT CLUTCH HOUSING – 1995 models now have only one direct clutch apply pressure feed hole, instead of the two feed holes found in previous models (See Figure 1).
Usage of the revised 1995 Direct Clutch Housing with one feed hole, into any of the previous model units, may result in 2-3 shift concerns and/or reverse engagement concerns.
